– So tell them.
I would, unfortunately there’s no way for me to compliment them without selling my soul to facebook.
also, telling others about the art is probably more impactful.

of course not. the american “system of checks and balances” only works if everyone plays by the rules.
because political dissidents who are in jail for trying to overthrow a dictatorship should also be able to run. it’s one of those unfortunate situations where this would be a good thing to have under an authoritarian government…
yeah, it’s a company that has about 3k units all over the country. they were recently bought by hsb but integration has not started yet.
not in a miljonprogramsarea and not in a municipal building, but this is all still good info.
no. i live in an apartment owned by a small-medium housing company. they have some 3000 apartments all over the country. they don’t really care about improving the housing, just keeping it in the same condition. rent is average, but they point to vandalism and neglect as reasons to raise it. the tenants’ union keeps opposing the raises but they keep happening.
gissamittjobb has good info on the situation in general but it doesn’t really apply to me.
i definitely don’t. these apartments have not seen a renovation since the 60s. ventilation barely works, i have seen inside temps as high as 28 degrees, and as low as 17. but the rents pay for all the services. more services, more rent.
grafitti raises rents because the owner has to hire someone to clean it off and that comes from my rent. same with not sorting your garbage properly. yes I’m salty about this, how could you tell
sweden.
and I went back to check, it was imported by a costume shop in collaboration with hard rock cafe in the early 90s but the decision from the board of business to encourage people to spend for this holiday came in 97.
halloween was imported into this country by a costume shop in 1997. this is common knowledge and the shop itself is very proud of this fact. because of this it is an explicitly consumerist holiday, and it is younger than me by a good margin. i do not know anyone who celebrates.
it’s better to just not. just let them do their thing, and you and i can continue sending actually legible communication.
i was gonna suggest the classic
re.match(r"^(..)\1*$", "0" * abs(i)) is not None
oh did Klaus retire?
there haven’t been card fees for end users in Sweden for many years. handling cash is a lot more expensive since you need somewhere secure to keep change, you loose time at the till handling the money, and you need to pay for someone to come pick it up. the time gained from just having the customers pay with card means businesses gladly swallow the fees.
and yes, i’m always surprised when going abroad how much more analog everything is. the nordics and Baltic’s are generally at about the same level (with Estonia way ahead), but the rest of the continent feels like it’s 10 years behind. I was once asked if I really wanted to pay with card in a corner shop in Leipzig, since the card fee was €10.
not that i’m a fan of the digitalisation, it makes marginalised groups even more marginalised. i see my elderly relatives struggling with it often.
i thought there was, but unfortunately the computer society seem to be having issues with their infra at the moment so i can’t find anything other than the DC3 blurb on the “systems” page. i remember it being called “dc3” because it was a “data cube”
I know that it started when this video from the university of Helsinki was being passed around in spring of 2013 and we all thought it was hilarious… then during summer break some guys started building a makeshift platform in one of the courtyards.
it’s a standout of its genre, definitely. i thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. i have no nostalgia for the apple ][ style it emulates but it really serves the art direction brilliantly.
i had a discussion with a friend about the obra dinn a few weeks ago. i told him how i enjoyed the “hidden in plain sight” fact that the letter you get with the pocket watch is signed “Henry Evans” and he basically lit up. turns out he had been stuck on the two ladies that were passengers, and he connected in real-time what must have happened to them just because i mentioned the name. i love that it’s the sort of game that gives you epiphanies.
