A VEGAN influencer is feared to have died of starvation after attempting to live on a fruit only diet. Zhanna Samsonova, 39, previously told how she spent four years eating and drinking just fruits…

I am relieved to find that eating food of any kind still does not cause the body to starve.

Except it does when you eat nothing but carbs and fiber with little to no fat and protein. You can be vegan all you want, but ignoring basic nutrition will always result in disaster.

Not sure what you’re implying; there are many fruits with fat and protein. Or do you just mean in the context of the comment you quoted?

It might be possible to live off fruit, but in the end, “food restriction resulting in significantly low body weight” is the definition of anorexia.

I don’t claim to know if she put her health in a compromised state or not, but look at recent pictures.

You can’t get all the nutrients needed from just fruit. This is fact. Just because some fruits may have some fats and proteins doesn’t mean they have enough to meet nutritional needs.

In the article it says she eats sunflower seed sprouts. A cursory google search says these are a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids.

Ah, moving the goalposts now. You didn’t say nutrients before; you said “fat and protein” specifically.

A major part of their “nutrients” point is fats and proteins, read the last reply again.

Just because some fruits may have some fats and proteins doesn’t mean they have enough to meet nutritional needs.

Oh I read it. That doesn’t change the fact that that’s not what they said at first.

Right, and the first quote is wrong like I said in the beginning. The “little to no fat and protein” part is not applicable to fruits. It’s other nutrients, "nutrients being referenced in later comments.

If I’m wrong, then please show examples of fruits that contain all the necessary nutrients needed by the human body, including the needed levels of fats and amino acid complete proteins.
