      Half the time in a city, someone who says “good morning” is trying to scam someone. It’s not the best strategy to flip a coin on entertaining a scammer.

        I won’t deny that I have on at least one occasion stood on a street corner with a tablet in my hand, trying to greet random people with no ulterior motives.

        True, this is a phenomenon I experience in America, and I did not consider it being different in other countries. Is it different in other countries?

          There are definitely many many countries (or at least cities in those countries) where saying hi to people you walk past isn’t given a second thought.
