let’s spread the love so other instances/communities can be discovered easier
here are a few I recommend:
I created Pizza, Lego, and a few others I’m trying to get off the ground
I’ll shill mine, a community for Manchester United fans
Nice to see sports people on Lemmy
Unapologetic shill time:

ooh, a lot of good ones there!
I always liked browsing houseplants on reddit and being in awe, considering I’m the most prolific houseplant serial killer of all time
Lemmy seems to be such an amazing instance. Science based. It is sad that it doesn’t have as many users as I had hoped… Science ftw.
Only a matter of time. :)
It’s getting better! All the time! This was just posted yesterday.
There are… some of us!
I suppose it’s my time to shine! (Self promotion time)
[email protected] [email protected] Drop on in!
for some reason I can’t enter from https://iusearchlinux.fyi @[email protected]
I’ve fixed the links, give it another go?
I created [email protected] for those of you that like lotr memes
The Middle-West-Earth
You have my bow.
Hnnnnng, must… not… say… it
And my hacks!
Think it needs to be posted as [email protected] in order for it to be clickable in certain clients, like Jerboa.
Edit: Well, I finally got the format right but the link crashed Jerboa. IDFK.
For me jerboa still opens them in browser every time :S
It seems that with the influx of users there are server problems. Or it’s a bug with the new jerboa update
Thank you for making that. I loved that subreddit and now I can still get my fix. Loving the new memes about reddit.
About China: https://latte.isnot.coffee/c/china
The big things I’ve been missing here are a horror community and a synthwave/outrun/vaporwave aesthetics community. I might have to just make my own.
Just created this, I’m not the best person to mod it so hopefully someone is willing to!
I made [email protected] as an alternative to r/curlyhair. You can also search for new communities at [email protected].
love the newcommunities idea, I subscribed!
Appreciate it :)
I feel little bit like cheater - I am not on beehaw that often.
I mostly post on homebrewing community on https://sopuli.xyz/c/homebrewing
Trying to grow it because I loved brewing subreddits.

I’ll shill the ones I made!
Destiny for the game Destiny, hopefully to fill in for r/destinythegame
Depressive Suicidal Black Metal for depressive suicidal black metal, my favorite genre
Shoegaze for shoegaze, another favorite of mine
Metal Memes for dumb metal memes
Nice! Related, I made [email protected]

[email protected](can’t figure out the links…)
It’s certainly something to see all the different instance names :)I can’t join any midwest.social communities, I have to create a new account. Is this because my account is under sh.itjust.works and midwest.social isn’t linked like Beehaw and lemmy.world? Not a question specifically for you, just anyone with fediverse knowledge.
are you on desktop or an app?
I know on desktop you should be able to log into sh.itjust.works, then click on the Communities tab and there will be a search box
if you paste [email protected] into the search box and hit search it will attempt to federate that community onto sh.itjust.works
it can take a minute to appear but the search result should eventually switch from no results to showing the ‘cats’ community and you can then view/subscribe right there from your home instance
same applies to any remote community, you need to search for the !community_name@instance_name from your home instances search box
Thanks! I’m on desktop and was successfully finding communities in search, just unable to join them - maybe it’s finicky right now. I was finally able to join [email protected] and [email protected] under this account, but wasn’t able to earlier. Opening any links (including from search) to community sites under the midwest.social instance would sign me out.
I still don’t quite understand how to subscribe to other communities on this thing.
I will normaly just go to the community on the instance of the community and then on the right side (don’t know about mobile) there is:
" You are not logged in. However you can subscribe from another Fediverse account, for example Lemmy or Mastodon. To do this, paste the following into the search field of your instance: [email protected] "
on my instance you also have to add to the search that all servers schould be searched. And then it works out.
Also some of links when I start brwosing the fediverse from my instance also bring me to the community without leaving my home instance but i didn’t figured this out jet.
I did the following on Jerboa
- save this post (we’ll be revisiting this a few times)
- go to the search function that is indicated by the bulleted list icon
- enter the community name (without the @… part)
- there’ll be a few results
- tap on them, see the posts if you want, and tap the subscribe button and see that it shows joined
- go to saved posts, repeat until subscribed to every community you want
Having said that, there’s probably a simpler way to do this. Still early in the learning process.
Overall, this is the biggest issue with jerboa. Not being able to get to other communities on other instances makes discovery next to impossible
+1 Thanks for sharing this information! I know that there’s going to be a bit of a learning curve for the new platform and I appreciate you helping us all out!
I’m getting an outdoorsy community going on my insurance: [email protected]

Thanks for posting this! What a great forum
Well this just introduced me to a new community. I’ve always wondered about putting ideas regarding sustainability into practice…
