The actual theory of tolerance is much more nuanced than that. There are certain things which are chosen to be tolerated by society, and that set of things isn’t structured in a way that gives rise to this paradox.
Paradox of Tolerance is taught as a way to destabilize that more nuanced and functional theory of tolerance, to provide cover for people
who want to overturn the old, functional, hard-won values of freedom.
