The only arguments you win are the ones you don’t participate in. Internet arguments are a race to the bottom of who can waste the least time.

That’s just inefficiently stupid. Down burn bridges, burn entire cities.

If you want to go down the blunt force road, don’t down vote manually, let a script do that … for you and your 10 closest alt accounts friends.

If you want to be a bit more sophisticated you have a bot run your alt accounts, commenting with short LLM generated content at random posts. And whenever your mark is active, you use one of these accounts to come at them. Maybe have your replies rewritten by your AI, so you don’t give it away by using the same phrases.

You can take it one step further, and analyse your marks interactions. Does a username pop up more than others consistently? Then your mark may have both poor OPSEC and an alt.

I was going to downvote this, but then I realised that would be admitting you won.

I’ll have to write an angry comment instead

    erm

    here goes

You’re a stupid libtankietard who votes for chairman musk and all your opinions are based on Facebook and the UN. You probably believe the moon is round. You can’t even wear your Arch Socks on the right feet. We should defederate.

Phew I think I won now. I forgot what we were arguing about?

Honestly, I am so happy that Lemmy doesn’t tie votes to any points like Reddit. It’s a pity that people will still find a way to bring points into arguments. Yeah it sucks when people disagree with you, but can’t always be right all the time either.

You’re really gonna let the world make you care about grumpy little arrow clicks? It diminishes us to even think about it. Each person is a being of pure chaos at the infinite center of creation. You are cosmic, made of stardust and in ways beyond words profound.

Besides, there’s no user karma on this site.

It’s not that i care. It’s just weird randomly seeing a lot of my benign comments at 0 upvotes. I can only then wonder how petty one must be to take their time to go through the effort

Really depends on what they use and how far back they went on you

Like I’ve said elsewhere I do this to people posting insane or false bullshit that are clearly spamming it, if you’re taking a shit or whatever and on Voyager you can click someone’s name and swipe slightly to downvote, can get through over a hundred comments in one shit if you don’t pay any attention to the content and just swipe, I bet

I love the downvote you got for that. The one lonely little downvote. There’s something poetic about it.

You used to be able to prove it too via kbin. It was very interesting having a supposedly cordial convo just to see that same person crawl your comment history downvoting everything.

Well the way i navigate thru conversations I’m having currently brings me to my history since i’m usually having more than one at a time an i need to know who’s replying to what. When one of those is an argument, noticing a bunch of single downvotes while passing thru my history causes air to erupt from my nose because it proves to me that someone I’ve got beef with is definitely malding.

The points don’t matter but the impotent effort they put in does, get me? It feels as close to a win as you’ll ever get on the 'net

Ah got it, thanks. I have never seen something like that for me and do not care, so would never look for it.
