Board, card, or video games - what’s being played this week?
I played Thrive, a sort of open source, more realistic version of Spore. It’s really impressive how far they’ve come from an ‘impossible dream’ to an actual functional game, albeit one with only one stage. However, as I mostly played Microbe and Creature stage in the original Spore anyway, that’s like half the game to me.
A box has just turned up with My City: Roll & Write and Lost Cities (unintended city theme in this order), so I’ll be playing those!
I downloaded Hitman from game pass last night and managed to get an hour or so in. Haven’t played a Hitman game in a long time so quite enjoyed it.
Otherwise it’s been the usual rotation of Rimworld and Forza, but also very much looking forward to Cities Skylines 2. Not sure I’ve ever been this excited about roundabouts.
Finally started Mario Odyssey after getting a Switch last xmas from my ex, and I’ve got to say I’m loving it. Otherwise on PC I’m rotating between Battlefield 4, Rust and Mudrunner at the moment
Mario Odyssey is genuinely amazing. It’s like they just got everyone together and said “ok let’s take everything we’ve learned over decades, pick just the most absolute pure FUN mechanics and systems, and shove them all together to make the funnest game ever”.
Currently playing The Last of us on PC. I wanted to play it on day 1, but it was a mess at the time of release. So waited till the updates had put it in a decent enough shape.
I haven’t encountered any major bugs, just 2-3 minor ones. I’m thoroughly enjoying the game. It’s an emotional experience, like a movie which really pulls you in. Gameplay is also nice with subtle variations as I progress to keep things interesting.
And it’s just beautiful. Definitely recommend
Trying to play though ff16 but it’s so difficult because it’s so awfull.
It’s not ff, it’s not an RPG and the performance is terrible and the side quests are dull.
Im renting it and I may just send it back before even finishing it.
My 4 year old learned about Pokémon Go recently I started playing it again after about 4 year hiatus, haha I stopped playing about the time she was born 🤣
My bass.
Tears of the Kingdom every evening since it arrived. It’s so good.
My steam deck is gathering dust somewhere, barely used since I got it!
Oxygen Not Included. Now on a much more powerful PC than all previous times – maybe I won’t have to abandon my duplicants when I get to the third asteroid and things get too laggy.
This game always gives me such a hard time. I watch guys like Francis John on YouTube and realize I don’t have an engineering degree to play it haha
I’ve been getting back into No Man’s Sky, I hadn’t played in a while so I’m trying to catch up with the recent updates. It’s always been a great chillout game for me, just exploring systems and finding odd new life forms.
Dead Cells, with the Castlevania DLC, on my Steam Deck. Good times
Just now it’s a replay of A Plague Tale: Innocence on Steam Deck; Aliens: Fireteam Elite; and mopping up achievements in Tomb Raider: DE.
Me and a mate also thought it would be a good idea to start Payday 2 seeing as though 3 is coming out soon… plot twist, it was not a good idea!
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
I’ve done the 4 regional phenomena and all the geoglyphs, I’m clearing off some side quests before continuing (finishing?)
Not sure why but I bounced off of Tears hard. I played and finished Breath, but within 5 hours I’d had my fill with TotK.
Suspect it’s a me thing more than the game.
I’ve been playing disco Elysium, after the latest video from upisnotjump really enjoying it
@snake_case this is one of those games I bought on steam after everyone raved about it but I keep putting of starting it
