Most of them exist for the most part. The problem is they’ll only have like 20 people.
Or 85 posts a day by 3 different bots with one and only one commenter.
r/buyitforlife is a treasure
But there is no new information popping up there. BIFL exists as a few individual blogposts listing all the good items, one of which is on Medium.
We currently have everything that I really wanted coming over. Unfortunately the niche stuff here but there’s no one home. I was helping trying to post in a few of them on a regular basis but there were just crickets
At first I was against the bot on slot, but it’s actually kind of nice being able to get my news here.
Honestly even at the levels where we’re at now I think everything is just fine I don’t need Lemmy to feed my doom scrolling and take up massive amounts of time in my day. I’ve become much more productive in all areas since leaving Reddit.
I was helping trying to post in a few of them on a regular basis but there were just crickets
Man, I feel you
More of the animal humor ones. I mean other than some niche communities. Animalsbeingdicks, teefies, silly stuff like that. It’d be a nice eyebleach between all the news articles about war and politics.
Man, I miss r/cronch
There are many that I miss.
r/fanfiction on Reddit is a great community and I had only positive interactions with people. With 350k-400k users and there is a lot of discussions and positive interactions. On Lemmy it’s very baren.
A lot of fandom specific subreddits which are very active have no Lemmy equivalent.
I haven’t logged in to Reddit since the whole API scandal, but I miss it a lot.
If you ever find or start an r/fanfiction alternative I will post stuff there so just lmk
There is [email protected] but the culture is very different from r/fanfiction.
There is [email protected] which has the same rules as the subreddit, but is even less active than the first options.
Edited so the links will work.
I miss r/Christian, there are very few of us on Lemmy, the communities seem basically empty here.
It seems like the number of people who want to have that community, and the number of people who want to downvote any post that supports Christianity, are roughly equal here.
Same for r/Islam. The couple I found here are abandoned.
Look, you’re being downvoted already, and so will I :)
Because most people are atheist here. Seems to be side effect of going deeper into the technology hole.
I thought they meant the name and not the religion 😭💀 (yes I’m stupid how did you know)
I think nothing can go wrong with more religious subs the more subs the merrier
community’s
I just downvote bad spellers.
Cope
People here are not particularly too fond of Anglosphere due to their fetish for war and genocide. That includes Western citizens. Christianity may have born in Syria, but Anglos used it as a tool to colonise and assimilate countries and cultures.
/r/framework
It’s the only thing I specifically seek out on Reddit.
It exists but it doesn’t have the activity/content.
I’d love to see smaller game devs have a federated presence with their content.
Right now, I only use Reddit to keep up with game devs who only post game content and updates on their own subreddit.
r/soccer.
I just want my goal highlights without ads.
FountainPens just one of my smaller less popular hobbies. That and EDC. We do have at least an EDC channel here but it’s now near as big.
Gosh I didn’t realize that I miss that.
I used to use !Fountain [email protected] but unfortunately they shut down recently
/r/climbersgonewild
Oooo man, you almost ALMOST have tempted me back to reddit with that one. I somehow missed that subreddit and I feel a bit sadder for that.
The internet is for cats. I haven’t been able to find many cat fanciers places that aren’t just several repost bots and a bewildered human. Places like r/catio used to give me a dose of kitty vitamins. There aren’t enough people for that here.
Datahoarder and buyitforlife
I’m missing daddit.
I left that sub loooong ago. Honest question was it still a circlejerk of Dads patting each other on the back or did they finally start focusing on relevant things like parenting and mommit?
Asking as a Dad btw.
I miss /r/oldhagfashion
Most positivity in that sub out of all of reddit.
