Is it better to starve for scraps in a dead world of dwindling resources or to strive to find a new one?

Realistically irl, it’s way easier to teraform a mostly fine planet with a working magneto sphere and liquid water as opposed to going to another planet where you’d have to do all that yourself, but sci-fi likes to pretend there are thousands of lush green worlds out in the endless black waiting to be colonized.

The larger issue would be the lack of easily available fuel to rebuild earth with, an issue only made infinitely harder by being light-years away from home and starting on a new dead rock instead of a mostly dead one.

    1. What movies would you recommend that have come out since Dune as that is the last movie I have been able to care about at all? This isn’t meant to be read as sarcastic, I’m being completely sincere I would like recommendations.

    2. I’m not going to lie I just don’t trust non-indie series any more. I can’t trust them to not be arbitrarily cancelled part way through, or to be ruined after one or two seasons. There are too many burnt bridges and broken promises.

  • Counterpoint there has been a measurable decrease in quality of most forms of media as more and more stuff are soulless cash grabs. It used to be that games shipped completed, now they ship broken cost more and expect you to pump even more money into them on top of that. The last move I saw that I cared about was Dune. Many of the restaurants near me have reduced their quality of ingredients and staff, now when going to the nearby sandwich shop my order is wrong more often than it is correct.

What do we do when the world is measurably becoming worse?

  • In most cases, local governments use direct cremation to dispose of unclaimed bodies and the cremains are stored for a set period of time. After being stored the cremains may be scattered. The Cremation Society of North America has estimated that there are currently 2 million unclaimed cremated remains in the U.S.

Some counties elect to bury unclaimed bodies. Typically, the body is buried in an unmarked grave that is county-owned. If a family member later comes forward the body may be exhumed upon request.

Other states allow for unclaimed bodies to be donated for medical science. There are also state laws that allow for the unclaimed bodies of veterans to be buried by third party groups.

This is for unclaimed bodies, if your body is claimed by your family then the cost is taken out of your estate or your family have to pay for it.

  • Why is it Batman’s duty to forfeit his morals and kill the Joker and not on the state of New Jersey for their revolving door of crime in their penitentiaries like blackwater and appalling lack of proper facilities to deal with dangerous and deranged meta humans instead sticking them in a rotting facility made in the 20’s.

Hell why isn’t this on the federal government after so many years of chronic and sustained neglect. They have what amounts to a nightmare scenario for the department of defense and just let it sit like a festering wound.

Why do we blame a single crazy billionaire, instead of the horrendous circumstances surrounding them.
