Not at all. You were just being a gaping asshole over there.

This whole thing reads like it was (poorly) translated to English.
I too enjoy going off my meds for the weekend.
And Dr Ruth. That lady was such a charming little horn dog.
Facts, rather. Factoids are things commonly believed to be true, but are not.
Is that what you appreciate about me, Squirrely Dan?
At least one idiot tried, and he got what he fucking deserved.
Right? I don’t think anyone ever even told me that was the origin, it just sort of made sense intuitively.
Yeah, VR headsets still seem to have a ways to go on Linux from what I read. I’d agree for something like that, dual boot would be a better option than a VM.
The rules for how they’re supposed to work sound simple enough on paper. Unfortunately a lot of us in the US have poor reading comprehension skills.
I know there’s a Citrix Workspace app for Linux, but this particular company’s environment won’t work in it for whatever reason. I tried making it work - got all the way through authenticating my credentials and then would throw an error (I forget what) as soon as it tried loading the dashboard.
And this is just a part time gig I’m doing for supplemental income, so it’s not a huge concern for me. Not really an important enough employee for them to spend time making a custom image for, particularly when they said up front I’d need Mac or Windows to use the Citrix environment, so I knew going in I’d probably need a VM if I couldn’t get their stuff working in Linux.
I think it may have something to do with the workspace protection they require for guarding against screenshots.
This was my solution. If I need windows for anything, I’ve got a Win10 VM. And with QEMU/KVM, it gets near native hardware performance. Thankfully the only thing I need it for currently is checking my work email once a day for a part time thing I do - their particular setup for the Citrix Workspace environment I’m required to use won’t work on Linux.
How to properly go through a four-way stop.
The church I was forced to go to as a child did a whole youth group and parents trip to the movies to see it. Thought it was pretty interesting the stuff I wasn’t allowed to watch, but that torture porn feature was a-OK for the kiddies.
I work from home using a work provided laptop. One day my partner at the time was working on setting up a Kali machine, and every time they connected to the network my work laptop would cease all network communication. Guess whatever security software/settings my work laptop had was made very nervous by a Kali machine on the same network.
Interesting way of saying, “I’m a self-centered fuck.”
Don’t lie to me. I know a Palantír when I see one.
Was about to ask what one does with dual Titan Xs, but the obvious answer is whatever the hell one wants.
You make an excellent point about the fediverse with which I wholeheartedly agree, but the point still stands that OP’s experience on lemmy.world in this particular situation was a result of their own unnecessary aggression towards someone asking a sincere question, not because it’s a “queerphobic shithole.”
