Usually pretty good advice for a book but actually not helpful in this book.

The real answer is to read it however you want to explore it.

I tried the “New Outlook” a few months ago. There was no longer a Save As option for attachments. All attachments were downloaded to the default downloads directory.

I immediately uninstalled and didn’t look back.
