Thanks for the response! Mind answering a noob question? Like where did you practice, an empty parking lot or…? Cuz even with helmet and gear, if you did fall, was it OK?

How long did it take for you to get half-decent with it? I have little to no balance, I can’t even rollerblade or ice skate, you think it’s worth trying to learn?
It seems so practical which is why I wanna keep trying to learn.
for a prospective dev (for contributing & who is learning…) what should one look into if they wanted to add support for another markup language? like typst! or uhh pandoc so whatever markup language one writes in it can be put in the appropriate format!

I feel like mom and dad are talking and I am sitting nodding along
no I think it’s, um actually, only when parents tell their kids in china / s <— to indicate it’s sarcasm
maybe bring back totalitarian and use it against countries like the US? have a word that, like Huey P. Newton said regarding coining the term ‘pig’ for police, “highlights the contradiction”, in this case, between the selective usage of a word and it’s inherent meaning, none of which is understandable without contradictions from a prescriptive linguistic context
wait i have something relevant to say too…

ah crud, don’t do this to me! wilson!!
Pure gold, I feel this way during my therapy sessions.
My wife taught that there was a limit to the number of tabs you could have on Safari on an iphone. I had no clue that was possible.
If you go to a library and study, you have some desk space in front of you, would you spread out your stuff (e.g. notes, textbook, laptop, supplementary books) to try and get it all out?
Likewise, does your work desk (say at home) have a bunch of stuff on it that you don’t use moment-to-moment, but you keep them in close proximity because in the event that you do need them, the effort (or energy) expenditure of having it contribute to clutter is less than the amount it would take to get it or find it in the event you needed it?
Yeah, that’s fair enough, gotta do my own homework some of the time.
Oh yeah? I can be hostile to our views even in hexbear. Watch me start a struggle session on checks notes outdoor vegan cats!1!!
Sometimes I think of things in the shower and after I’m done I can’t find the post I wanted to post in :/
Interesting, I think I’ll take a look. You sorta skipper over what ‘normie’ or reddit behaviour was mentioned in his book specifically. Was it the lack of reading scientific articles you mentioned in another paragraph, that alone can’t be it right?
I believe I have the same experience you have, I think others have a different experience and it makes me curious as to why, I think there might be something interesting there and ignoring it or treating it minimally doesn’t seem to be ideal. If there’s a different kind of lemmy experience or set of interactions, I want to know, what is it?
wish it was on linux :(
