I haven’t logged into Facebook in over a decade, can’t even remember the login email. Can’t be arsed to jump through hoops to ask for it to be deleted.

My wife works nights and is mostly alone all night, so I try to stay up late so she has someone to talk to. Unfortunately I also have a shifting schedule that changes every week, so I can’t ever get into a sleeping pattern.

Without fail and regardless of what time I went to sleep, every day between 630-7am I wake up. And if I’ve had more than 4 hours of total sleep, there’s 0 chance of me going back to sleep no matter how tired I feel.

My body is a MACHINE. It’s BREAKING DOWN and things FALL OUT of it sometimes.

In one work report, I recorded the date as “1/13/25”, “13/1/25” and “13JAN2025”

I have my preference, but please for the love of all that is fluffy in the universe, just stick to one format…

The secret is “not having politicians that bend over backwards for car companies for over a century while your country is still in development” and “having people in influential potitions or states that understand taxes aren’t inherently bad” with just a Powerpuff girls size dash of “the wealthy like to keep poor people in their place and poor public transit and education keep things that way”

That’s why no amount of “it’s actually cheaper to do it the other way than you already pay and here’s 10,000 studies and real world examples all over the world that prove it” will convince the people who can change anything.

And I’m sorry, but I can’t seem to care about what’s “proper” when half my friends now have reasonable fear for their lives, not just “comfort of living” just because they are lgbtq+ living in deep red country.

I tried explaining tariffs to my in-laws.

They genuinely think that other countries will be paying the extra cost for the privilege of trading with the USA.

Completely refuse to believe they have to pay the extra cost out of their own pocket or the company will sell elsewhere.

Edit to add, these in-law’s also think China is still mostly like their media-based perception of feudal Japan. As in “they only have two modern cities, Beijing and Tokyo” type of “knowledge” of China.

I used to hate when this happened to me. Someone reviving a post from ages ago to answer a question that I already found months/years ago.

But hey, it could help someone else in the future if I didn’t go back and post the answer to my own question (spoiler alert: I didn’t) so now I just do what OP does and thank them for their time, move on with my day. Chuckle at the stupidity of my youth.

Some people get angry about things like that. Just be chill, they probably didn’t notice how long ago it was posted.

The only celebrating I do is eating slightly more unhealthy, take the day off work unless it’s going to be a short day, and maybe look to see if any games in my “maybe if it’s on steep sale” list are on sale.

That’s it.

I don’t remind people, I dont expect anyone to remember, but it’s nice when they do.

My excuse for missing people’s birthdays is I DO know the date… I just don’t know what the date today is. Sure I know my sister was born on the 12th, but that doesn’t matter if I think today is the 10th and it’s actually the 15th…

So if I have that much problem, it wouldn’t be very chill to be upset with others for missing mine.

I have “all time fave” which are games I keep reinstalling every so often, then I have “installed” vs “not installed”

The category for favorites is just so when I inevitably go to look for a game to install because I’m bored with what I have, it’s at the top when I un-check the “installed” button.

There’s also one where the child is intersex and collapses during their basketball game.

I see no reason to “cut myself off” at any point, I still find games released in the last few years that look interesting, and some with release dates TBD that look neat.

I haven’t bought a new console since July 2015 and have no plans to buy a new generation any time soon.

When my current console dies, I might upgrade, but likely I will find a cheap used replacement and keep playing what I already have.

Someday I will update all my stuff, just not today.

Any time my father brings up stuff like this, I remind him that he and his brothers drove their car onto a frozen lake and almost broke through the ice, and more than once they bought tennis balls, soaked them in gasoline, and threw them at each other with welding gloves.

I know for a fact that he and his brothers did tons of dumb shit, and I won’t let him forget it even if he finds it convenient when comparing generations.
