I generalize millennials as too young to legally drink in the US (21) but old enough to remember the millennium. It’s not completely accurate though.

Power tools are sometimes the exception to the rule of buying cheap tools. Saws are probably the biggest exception. My cheap corded ryobi saw is awful because it’s so flimsy, and the deck bends. The makita saw I replaced it with is 100x easier to use, more accurate, and safer.
Buying cheap tools applies to hand tools, air tools, hydraulic stuff, etc.
Firm disagree. Social media, or more specifically algorithmic short form content these days, is extremely damaging. It’s different from anything that’s come before and has nothing to do with connecting with your peers.
I graduated high-school in 2009 so I saw the beginning of popularized social media. Very few gained anything from participating in it. Mostly people who were good at marketing and building a following benefited.
Mostly agree, I hate Samsung in general (sent from Samsung Galaxy S22). Anytime I see someone considering their appliances or TVs I try to turn them to something else. They have made the best batteries for a long time though. I hope a competitor rises to squish them a bit.
Don’t buy a sumsung washer. I only buy used washers and dryers because I’m cheap and handy. Samsung is not an option because a large part of the user market is broken in a way that costs the same as buying new.
I do sort of disagree with your QA comment. Everyone seems to think QA stops once you sell a product, but it doesn’t. They did a full recall to fix their quality mistake. It’d be like if Tesla finally recalled all of the cybertrucks for sucking as much as they do. Massive PR hit to attempt to maintain quality.
I only lurk on Reddit these days, but if old reddit goes away I’ll be completely done with it.
Samsung was very transparent about their fuck up with the note 7. The article you linked makes it very clear it was a connection issue or a different manufacturer. At this point this is equivalent to the burn banana peels to get high or you eat dozens of spiders while you sleep internet lies.
This is my family’s combined income and my god people need to stop thinking we are wealthy. I’m currently staring at a $1000 car on Facebook marketplace to hopefully save some money because I know how to fix it. I am constantly buying cheap shit to afford to live, we are not rich at all. I have more in common with a homeless person than a wealthy person.
Boots last years and are more comfortable IMO. Most jobs that require you be on your feet all day require safety shoes anyways. Spend double and get 10x lifetime. Shoes that only last 6 months are cheap garbage marketed to idiots. It’s the same crap with those on cloud shoes, they are comfortable for a month then absolute shit.
My previous phone was a motoG power and though it was bulky and a bit laggy the battery life was amazing. It’s I think 3 years old now and I still use it in airplane mode for reasons. The battery lasts 3 weeks when I don’t touch it. Compare that the s22 I’m typing this on which barely lasts 1 day in standby with batter saver enabled. I hate this phone after having that sweet multi day battery life.
They can see the numbers for new shit reddit and old reddit. They haven’t gotten rid of it because it probably still has a ton of traffic that can display ads. It’s extremely obvious that they fucked up with the new design just because the old one has been around for so long
That’s sort of my feeling as well. Putting my tin foil hat on. I think it’s why I’m in the group that isn’t being fucked with yet.
Russian apologist who supports Russia in the Ukraine war is how I understand it.
Me too. I’m also on Google Fi still for reasons, I know there are better options. The moment they start blocking Ublock I will be cancelling my phone plan.
IMO reddit won but only by engaging a new audience. It removed the 1 post per subreddit on the front page without an announcement, modified the upvote algorithm to make upvote numbers seem larger than they are, and comments per upvote are lower than 10 years ago. Basically engagement is way down for people who use it like a forum aggregate. But engagement is way up by people who are migrating off of Instagram and similar platforms. I used to feel weird about being on reddit but now I have my wife’s 20 mostly female coworkers asking me about it. Reddit has a new audience it appeals to and it’s creating a weird issue because for some dumbass reason they thought the unpaid engagement generators would stick around after they fucked everything up for a few short term dollars.
Same here. Bought in 2018 which was supposed to be at some all time high. Then refinanced it during COVID with a total monthly payment of $1500 on a 3br2ba house. When we bought the house we thought we were making a dumb decision, now I’m some sort of genius for getting lucky. I can’t imagine trying to rent these days.
They are real shokz open run headphones. I’m not trying to shit on people that use them they just seem to suck for me. The extra charge cable also pisses me off.
She has better hearing than I do but when listening to a podcast they are loud enough she can’t hear normal talking volume. Like I can stand next to her and say something and if she doesn’t see me she can’t hear me. It’s bad enough that she told me to buy her the cheap independent ear headphones I use as a gift in the future because she’s annoyed by it.
I never get vertigo and have crazy good balance. I haven’t fallen over in a decade and I ski and mountain bike a lot. I think the headphones vibrate some part of my ear that is part of how I balance.
Edit: thinking about it it’s not vertigo I feel. It’s that I can feel my skull vibrating and it is absolutely awful. I can feel it shaking behind my eyes. So maybe I’m weird and can feel something most people can’t?
Warning for people like me. I have no way to define it clearly but these headphones make me want to die. My wife bought them for me so I didn’t know anything about them when I tried them. I’ve never been more nauseous in my entire life. I lost my balance and almost puked before I ripped them off my head. I still feel like a drama queen.
My wife loves them though lol (she’s not a cunt so she was really confused why I hated them so much). For those that want them for running so you are more aware, they make you deaf as fuck to the world. Just run with 1 Bluetooth headphone and stay safe.
Don’t ever use leifs. Bloodsucking vampire of a company, high pressure sales tactics included.
I wish this were only a problem with kids. I’m a system integrator and I’m constantly asking for screenshots of HMIs for troubleshooting. It’s about 50/50 with my current client if it’s going to be a jank cell phone picture or an actual screenshot. I think it’s an uneducated portion of the population that is too dumb to give a shit. They always existed but now the barrier to posting a photo is finally low enough that they can barely step over it and us early PC users are annoyed by them.
I own a station wagon, a suburban, and previously a truck. When I owned the truck it was full of shit or hauling stuff constantly. I sold it the moment I didn’t need it. The suburban replaced it because I refuse to put my dogs in the bed while towing the boat to go camping. The wagon is a people hauler because it’s payload is too low most of the time.
There are quite a few people in this world who actually use their trucks. I also completely hate seeing people who own trucks but don’t use them.
