Hangul
Oh, yup, these are not derived from Phoenecian, but considering how recent they are they were developed after the concept of a phonetic alphabet had already been widely circulated
Do you have any info on that? I’m not too familiar with Eastern languages, but all of the examples that I can think of have phonetic alphabets less than a millennium old.
Yes, but it’s quite recent, only a few hundred years old - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origin_of_Hangul
The most insane thing to me is that — as far as anyone can tell — a phonetic alphabet was developed only once in all oh human history.
Investors who don’t bother reading past the letters A and I in the prospectus.
How is Worldcoin still a thing?
Maybe true, but even at $3500 the Vision Pro would be about the cheapest thing in the operating theater anyway.
Wow. How do they fit so much smart into such a tiny space?
Also because Taiwan is currently the only place to get state-of-the-art microchips
I honestly think the tiny fraction of MAU might be the reason. Something like once you exceed a Dunbar Number of contacts in a community it starts to go downhill.
His mistake was answering a call from an unknown number.
The headline’s a bit misleading. The drive is a plasma thruster, and the company found that by adding Boronated water to the exhaust the plasma would fuse with some of the boron creating a kind of afterburner effect, not a sustained fusion reaction. It’s kind of interesting as a way to boost the performance of the plasma thruster, but not “OMG it’s a Fusion Drive!!!” interesting.

Really that whole song is a masterpiece.
Assuming it’s a regular porcelain bowl I’d try Barkeeper’s Friend next, it’s a mild abrasive made from something weird like rhubarb.
Used dryer sheets work well too. Wet, scrub, rinse. Takes off hard water stains and soap scum as well or better than vinegar in my experience.
a tale as old as time…
It sounds like a cortado, though that is usually an equal volume of steamed milk, not frothed. Those have been popular in Spain for a long time, though that doesn’t really answer your question about Buenos Aires.
Jimmy Wales (of Wikipedia fame) has been working on something like this for several years. Trust Cafe is supposed to gauge your trustworthiness based on other people who trust you, with a hand-picked team of top users monitoring the whole thing — sort of an enlightened dictatorship model. It’s still a tiny community and much of the tech has to be fleshed out more, but there are definitely people looking into this approach.
When did we get away from saying “X - formerly known as Twitter” ? I liked seeing that gentle nudge in every headline.
