I’m going to travel to Indonesia in 2 days and finding the appropriate sim card to use. I browsed the Internet and found buying 3hk SIM from mobimatter is the cheapest option. Is the SIM safe to use? Anyone else ever got a SIM from mobimatter?

That’s something I’ve always wondered about… SIM owners have access to phone data beyond just the IMEI and cell tower usage. What sort of protections are in place for eSIM users in an untrustworthy environment?
I suspect there’s a risk of MITM attack (I’m not a security expert so I’m not sure). Maybe I can use a VPN all the time but that sounds stupid.
Short answer: eSim users are fucked.
