  • Says the dude actively using twitter. GTFOO of twitter people.

Centralization sucks. I know a lot of people who are currently dropping BlueSky and migrating back to Twitter because it was just too much of a loss for them unfortunately.

    Edit:

Can’t be bothered responding to each post individually so I’ll put this here.

First off. Mastadon isn’t that great of an experience. There’s a reason it’s not even at half the amount of users it started with. The devs don’t listen to feedback and at the current time attempting to get the average person on there is a struggle.

Second off. There are people who use twitter for professional purposes. There’s also a lot of companies that refuse to drop the platform which means people collaborating or coordinating with them end up using it for that purpose too. A lot of people and groups with large followings still find moving off the platform too risky. I’m not among those groups but you’re being a bit ignorant if you think they don’t exist or that they don’t matter.

  • I started the series as a teenager and I’m not going to stop just because I’m older now.

That said I was also reading my parent’s books when I was younger too. I grew up on Dan Brown and Clive Cussler just as much as I grew up on Rick Riordan and Anthony Horowitz. I feel like my taste in books has only devolved as I’ve gotten older if anything.

  • If this was law, and companies had to divulge how there stuff worked and was assembled, as well as sell parts, things would last longer.

I’m all for it but I think you’re being a bit too optimistic. If we had the right to repair then the prices of repair kits and materials is going to go up most likely. I can think of a few other ways they can make that system obnoxious too.

It’s like everything else. Yeah, the general systems in place could be greatly improved but ultimately the majority of the issues lie with the people at the top who refuse to let us have good things. No matter what laws are passed they will find a way to profit at any cost.

Sure, but those regulations have to be stuff like “no selling petroleum to people for their cars”. Are you ready for a carless world?

Are we just going to act like electric vehicles don’t exist or that the quality of EVs would be significantly higher if the current fuel and car industry wasn’t hindering their development at every turn?

I get the feeling you’re just on some ego trip about how you’re ready to return to nature, while the rest of the lower classes around the world aren’t ready to go as far as you are, despite the fact that it’s not even necessary.

Our infrastructure and our technology can change and evolve to co-exist and support the environment much better. People can retain many of their modern convivences of life while preserving nature. It will be more expensive for the wealthy at the top, more time consuming, and perhaps not exactly the same, but it can be done.

  • As am I. I’m a bit curious as to which viewpoint they’re discussing.

I don’t think it’s bad for people to be somewhat suspicious of bots/misinformation campaigns that occur online. We do know they occur.

That said, I believe we should still try to communicate on the various media platforms in the event that there is in fact a human behind the screen.

  • How long have you been using it?

I’ve been using it for years. About six months ago or somewhere around that, YouTube started a small campaign against adblockers though. In that campaign, they actually forced Vanced to rebrand to Revanced due to a lawsuit. It was in this time that through the campaign more people became aware of adblockers.

This actually sucked for users like me. The amount of times I’d have to repatch Revanced due to the constant updates was awful. It’s more stable now, but if this ever happens again it will be annoying.
